St George island is one of two small islands located in the Bay Of Kotor in Montenegro. The closest settlement to the island is a small fishermen’s town called Perast. The island was used as a cemetery for residents of Perast and that is why the island was also known by the name "the island of the dead". It is said that it was also called the “cursed island” since the Roman Pope officially cursed it because of a terrible crime that occurred on the island. The island is now occupied by Benadictine Nuns who ring a bell each time a ship passes. I was on board a sailing vessel when I took this image and when I heard the nuns ring the  bell.

There are three image sizes. Each one is printed on 300gsm cotton rag paper. There are three corresponding framed sizes which include a timber frame in a choice of five colours; a glass window and a white mat board.
